|
| Model: | Karmann Ghia Coupe | | Price: | SOLD | | Year: | 1968 | | Type: | | | Location: | Gloucestershire | | Description: | 1968 Coupe Left Hand Drive
12 months MOT (passed 1st time, no advisories)
Tax Exempt
Sahara beige with Burgundy flashes.
1600cc TP with Dellorto DRLA 40 carb; Petronix Flamethrower coil: Electric fuel pump; Twin exhaust, Magnet Marelli. Engine tin is limited to fan shroud and cylinder head shrouds, I've had no problems on runs of over 100 miles, but if you're likely to be sat in traffic for any long periods then tin will need to be fitted.
Body is generally good, straight and solid, although there are one or two small patches that I suspect have some filler in. Pans are solid, but a little surface rust on the inside. No bumpers on at the minute, but I have a full set of towel rail bumpers which is missing one overrider. I have found one and am waiting for delivery. Bonnet has been drilled and is fixed with pins and springs at the front, but I have a replacement with all the catches which comes with the car. Decklid is fibreglass but again I have a replacement with number plate light housing which is included.
Glass is all good, plexi to rear sides and rear, but I have glass versions of all all which are included.
I've completely overhauled the braking system over the last year. New discs, calipers and pads up front (upgraded flexible s/s braided hoses were there already so I left them). New master cylinder - New drums, cylinder, shoes and springs in the rear.
Interior is good, but one of rear cards has come away from one side, and there is a tear in the rear seat back. Front seats are old style rally buckets with Britax harnesses. EMPI hurst style shifter, Mota-lita steering wheel, Autogage Tach. I also have an Autometer oil temp gauge unfitted.
Wheels are Porsche/VW Pedrinis in excellent condition with the exception of one kerb scrape to one wheel.
The car runs great, and is good and solid. We were going to put the new metal, glass and bumpers on but we're emigrating, and can't take it with us.
